It is a new world, and we are all living on the Internet. Our digital lives are convenient and complicated. As a result, professionals and their clients face new practical concerns. The program will explore this new paradigm, touching on clients’ digital estate planning, online assets, retention of family legacies, practical post-death estate administration issues, tax, privacy and data retention issues, as well as relevant current developments.

Tim Maximoff counsels clients in Tax, Estate Planning and Administration, and Business Matters. In estate planning, he assists his clients in optimizing their planning, addressing the high estate and income tax burdens, and the unique family and business dynamics of each case.

Tim's work encompasses the appropriate use of many types of trusts, family corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, and foundations, as well as assisting his clients in the formation and operation of their business ventures. He assists clients in administering estates and trusts and in resolving complicated estate and family business disputes. Tim also represents individuals and business clients in federal and state tax examinations, appeals and litigation, and in trust and estate disputes.

Tim is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). He is also the past Chair of the Taxation Section of the State Bar of California and member of its Estate and Gift Tax Committee. Tim has been named a “Northern California Super Lawyer” every year since 2007, as chosen by his peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics and San Francisco Magazine. He is a member of the Estate and Trust and Business Law Sections of the California Bar Association, the American Bar Association’s Taxation, Business, and Real Property, Probate and Trust Sections and the Santa Clara and Santa Cruz County Bar Associations. Tim is the current chair of the Santa Clara County Estate Planning Council.  Tim earned his J.D. from University of Santa Clara, M.B.A., University of Santa Clara and B.A. Biology from Harvard University.
