The speaker will present an overview of basic strategies available to help middle-class Seniors qualify for a Medi-Cal subsidy to help pay for Long-Term Nursing Care without going broke. Prevailing Myths will be explored as to who may qualify.  He will also briefly discuss some estate planning concerns in connection with long-term care planning, and touch on VA pension planning for Veterans in need of income to pay for care, including new developments from the VA.


About our Speaker:
Mr. Osofsky is an Elder Law Attorney whose practice focuses on Medi-Cal planning for seniors worried about the very high cost of financing long-term care. His experience in this field spans more than two decades. He writes articles on elder law and special needs topics for California elder law attorneys, and is a contributing author to the leading CEB two-volume reference on “Special Needs Trusts” designed for California practitioners.  He also writes a biweekly column for two local newspapers on estate planning and elder law topics, and is recognized as a Northern California “Super Lawyer” in Elder Law. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and the UCLA school of Law. In his former life he was a Certified Specialist in Family Law for many years and, as such, tried many cases to judgment in our local courts.
